Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Bowie (“the Service”), operated at meetbowie.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is provided by Alenzo Collective B.V., registered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Description of Service

Bowie is an AI-powered cooking companion that provides personalized recipe suggestions, cooking guidance, meal planning, and grocery list features. The Service is available as a web application, with a native iOS app planned.

Content generated by our AI assistant is for informational and entertainment purposes. It is not a substitute for professional dietary, medical, or nutritional advice.

3. Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account using your email address or a third-party sign-in provider (e.g., Google). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. The Service is not intended for, or directed to, children under 13 in the United States, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free and Paid Plans

Bowie offers a free tier and a paid subscription plan (“Bowie+”).

Free Plan

Includes browsing recipes, limited AI interactions (up to 5 per day), saving up to 10 recipes, and full access to blog content. Anonymous visitors may also generate one recipe per device per day without signing up.

Bowie+ (Paid Plan)

Bowie+ is a monthly subscription at the regional price shown at checkout. It includes unlimited AI interactions, photo-to-recipe scanning, cook mode, nutrition information, unlimited saves, weekly meal planning, smart grocery lists, priority responses, and an ad-free experience. Pantry tracking, offline access, and store checkout integrations are planned features and are not included in the current subscription unless shown in the product at purchase time.

Pricing may change with 30 days' notice. Active subscribers will be notified via email before any price increase takes effect on their next billing cycle.

5. Payments, Auto-Renewal & Refunds

Auto-renewal disclosure. Bowie+ is a recurring monthly subscription. By subscribing, you authorize Alenzo Collective B.V. (via our payment processor, Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method for the monthly regional price shown at checkout, plus any applicable tax, on the same day each month until you cancel. Your subscription will renew automatically until you cancel.

How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, with no fee, from your billing page (which opens the Stripe customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access to Bowie+ until then.

• 30-day money-back guarantee:If you're not happy with Bowie+ within the first 30 days of your initial subscription, email us at Bowie@alenzocollective.com and we'll refund your most recent payment in full, no questions asked. The guarantee applies to the first subscription term per customer.
• Refunds outside the guarantee window: We do not automatically refund partial billing periods after the 30-day window. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at Bowie@alenzocollective.com and we'll review case by case.
• Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile page at any time. If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled immediately.
• Price changes: If we change the recurring price of Bowie+, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next billing cycle. You can cancel before the change takes effect to avoid the new charge.

6. AI-Generated Content

Bowie uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes, cooking tips, and suggestions. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate suggestions
• Recipes may not account for all allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions — always verify ingredients if you have known allergies
• Cooking times and temperatures are approximate — use your judgment and a food thermometer for food safety
• We are not liable for any adverse outcomes resulting from following AI-generated cooking instructions

While we take allergies and dietary preferences into account based on your profile data, AI systems are not infallible. You are responsible for verifying ingredient safety.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the AI models or proprietary systems behind the Service
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit content generated by the Service without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits on the free plan
• Upload or transmit harmful, abusive, or illegal content

8. Intellectual Property

The Bowie name, logo, mascot, design, and software are the intellectual property of Alenzo Collective B.V. All rights reserved.

Content you create using the Service (e.g., saved recipes, modifications, meal plans) remains yours. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the GDPR.

10. Availability & Modifications

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Significant changes to the Service or these Terms will be communicated via email or in-app notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch and EU law:

• The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the competent courts in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

If you are an EU consumer, you also have the right to submit a complaint through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

Note for U.S. consumers:Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your state of residence (including, where applicable, the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, the California Automatic Renewal Law, and analogous state laws). If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable against you under your state's law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of the Terms will remain in effect.

13. Notice for California Subscribers

Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California residents are entitled to the following consumer rights notice: the provider of this Service is Alenzo Collective B.V., Amsterdam, The Netherlands. You may contact us at Bowie@alenzocollective.com with any complaint or to request information about charges. The California Department of Consumer Affairs Complaint Assistance Unit may be contacted in writing at 1625 N. Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at 1-800-952-5210.

In line with the California Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.), we disclose all auto-renewal terms clearly at checkout and in Section 5 above, and you may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page in two clicks.

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may retain certain data as required by law (e.g., invoices for tax purposes).

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
